Just an FYI-
The House just passed a 1.6% pay raise for the military for 2012, and then voted to adjourn for the weekend.
The pay raise is contained in the 2012 Defense Spending bill, which passed the full House today by a vote of 336-87. Next, it needs to go to the full Senate.
The Senate commitee previously approved the same number number- 1.6%-- as well. If the Senate passes it with the same number, it's pretty much a done deal.
With the house passage, it looks very likely that 1.6% will be the final number, which will kick in in January 2012.

This is military only- the civilian side is still in a 2-year payfreeze mode.
