Does anyone know if one is entitled to get the 5% employer matching on monetary awards received as salary (e.g. the 5% shown on my annual TSP statement for employer matching is not the same figure as 5% of salary that appears on my W-2)? Any ideas on the delta and what to do about it?

Basic pay only. This is good because you could get really messed up with a bonus putting more in for you in April and that maxes out your contributions.
Remember, when you max out contributions, Uncle Sam no longer matches!!!!!!!
