This portafolio with several fund exchanges gave me +19.96% in 2005. I am about 80% technician looking at both weekly and daily MACDs as primary indicators, but use 20% or so gut-feeling (being burned a few times). Take a look at one example:
Check the MACD of FOSFX http://stockcharts.com/gallery/?FOSFX, a fund that I am still holding on. According to technician theory regarding MACDs, one should sell as the Bearish Moving Average Crossovers
see: http://www.stockcharts.com/education/IndicatorAnalysis/indic_MACD1.html for explanation.
In my view, January will be bearish, but there is quite a bit of money coming into the market. Thus, I will hold for an extra few days, as the choices for money will drive those funds up. I am hoping to sell FOSFX in a week or two if conditions look right.
I will try to post my moves on a timely fashion through the year.
