I already know that retirement planning is beyond me. I'm a LEO, early 30's, and I cannot figure out what to do regarding Roth or IRA's, if I qualify or not, how to reduce tax overhead, reduce my income correctly, manage retirement accounts, how TSP works in regards to pretax and post tax, whether I pay out of pocket for capital gains from stocks, bonds, IRA's, what I make out of tsp, etc etc. The system is literally Beyond me.
So I'm looking for advice on how to find an an accountant with knowledge on the following:
1) Roth IRA and Traditional IRA accounting
2) Federal Employee benefits, Taxes, and money management
3) Future Disaster Planning
4) Correct tax filing.
Basically I'm looking for an accountant who knows how to properly do taxes, and can advise me on how to properly setup a Roth IRA, and how to Manage a TSP account. H&R Block would not qualify IMO because I don't believe they can deal with my own individual needs (that and they charge allot for giving little feedback).
