Kleenex parent Kimberly-Clark upgraded on coronavirus stockpiling, long allergy season

Kimberly-Clark Corp. was upgraded to buy from hold at CFRA as coronavirus concerns drive consumers to stockpile basic necessities like toilet paper. Kimberly-Clark brands include Cottonelle toilet paper and Kleenex tissues. "Kimberly-Clark should benefit from a longer and more severe allergy season expected this year, particularly in the eastern U.S., due to warmer temperatures and above-average rainfall," CFRA analyst Arun Sundaram said. Videos of shoppers rushing to buy multiple packs of toilet paper have gone viral around the world. Kimberly-Clark stock was down 3.4% in Tuesday trading, but has gained nearly 18% over the past year. The S&P 500 index [ has gained nearly 2% over the last 12 months.
