Incredible video footage of the lava flows in Leilani Estates. Apparently, this video was taken on a GoPro strapped to a trained carrier pigeon. I don’t think it was edited by the pigeon.

just sharing what’s going on in my neck of the woods. madame pele doesn’t seem to be slowing down. i’m feeling some of the affects of the “laze” even up in my northwest corner of the island....eye irritation and sore throat, but i’m lucky the tradwinds blow most everyday and today its blowing in a southwest direction. Exciting times living on an island with 5 volcanoes...2 active.

Wow KK! Incredible video... so scary to think those fissures can just pop up like that. I guess folks there and USGS can give better idea on where that can happen. I was wondering how you were doing and glad to hear your 100 miles away. I heard reports on toxic volcanic fumes carried over large portions of island due to high winds and direction. hoping your not getting too much of that. Take care.
