June Contest In Progress

Nearly halfway through June and the 100% C-fund herd hold the best June return. The C-fund has vastly outperformed the S and I-fund this month. Coming into today the C-fund has a gain over 3% in June while both the S and I hold negative returns for the month.

Most investors who sit below the 100% C-fund herd in the June standings hold mostly C-fund with a lesser percentage of S-fund holdings. If the S-fund outperforms in the second half, we may see some of these names climb to the top of the list.

There is one member who stands out among those in the running. Our stats guru JTH held 100% C-fund up to Wednesday's rally when they then moved to 100% G-fund. They were knocked out of the top when the C-fund added 0.2% yesterday, but they will be put at the number one position if the S&P 500's current losses hold through today's close. Ironically, JTH published a blog post on the S&P 500 today: S&P 500: The Crock-pot of Indexes.

We have a whole second half of the month to sit through, but so far it has been the C-fund bulls that have padded their TSPs the most. How many will hold the C-fund through the end of the month and how many, like JTH, will start to take profits?

Thanks for the shout out, hopefully I didn't jinx myself :cheesy:

I consider myself fortunate to be awake when the pre-markets open, so I'm often plotting trades before most folks get out of bed. Statistically speaking, the S&P 500 should close down today. The bigger question, will it close under Thursday's 5421.02 close and gain the slight edge I'm looking for?

The short answer (don't take that bet) this isn't one of my wiser IFTs. For one thing, these past 5-9 sessions have been outside my statistical norm, (and the 2nd thing), this isn't how I would manage my portfolio with a 2-IFT limit on a year-to-year timeframe.

It's more than plausible our last hour of trading will surge us over my proverbial line in the sand... if so, I'll be drinking coffee out of a paper cup

Unless the C-fund sells off tomorrow while the S-fund rallies, we are likely to have a lot of members tied in one of the top spots. If you have been one of those members sitting 100% C-fund this month, I recommend logging into your AutoTracker account even if you don't make an IFT. Or if you are really cool, reply to this thread :cool::cool:

Here are the tie breakers rules:

The top 5 are given prizes**, but we will pay up to 10 places in the event of ties. If there are still members tied after 10 places, the tie will be broken by the least number of days since your last login to the AutoTracker (or the Forum - updated 5/15/15).
