July Contest In Progress

We're halfway through July and we finally see two members outpacing all of the TSP funds.

Bullet and KyFan1 share the number-one spot in the TSP Talk AutoTracker July standings.

Both members moved from 100% G-fund to 100% S-fund on July 5th, a day the S-fund was down. This had them outpacing the S-fund before it took off on this latest rally.

The I-fund was leading in July before it sold off 0.6% yesterday. The question is who will time the best S-fund exit?

New Leaders in July

slsmul moved from the S-fund to the G-fund yesterday, their first IFT since March. They may have been provoked to sell after the S-fund pulled back to Wednesday to end a four-day rally, and so far, that was the right move. The S-fund slipped even deeper today, and their July return was protected.

slsmul now sit at the top of the July Standings with three other members who are also outperforming the S-fund for July:

MRJ was the only member holding 100% S-fund all month to move to the G-fund during today's loss. If the selling in the S-fund continues tomorrow, they will distinguish themselves on top with the others.

Five members have outpaced the S-fund so far in July.

The top three shared a July return (5.87%) coming into today. Bullet and Kyfan1 hold 100% S-fund while slsmul holds 100% G-fund. The first two will distinguish themselves on top of the July standings if the DWCPF (S-fund) can keep its gains today. All three still have an IFT available in July.

MRJ is in fourth place in July. We mentioned they left the S-fund on Thursday. Well, they reentered the S-fund on Friday, skipping Friday's losses while resuming full exposure to the S-fund starting on Monday. They still have the option to move to the G-fund in July.

We will be watching for any changes to these July leaders' allocations in The Last Look Report.

With three days left of July, five members have distinguished themselves for the best returns of the Month.

Fit2bol and Nospin are at the top of the July standings with returns 0.39% apart from another. Both members are TSP Talk Plus members. Nospin was recognized in the TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up in the last two weeks for their IFT performance.

The are both fully invested but Fit2bol carries some C-fund allocation while Nospin is fully invested in the S-fund. This difference will decide who comes out on top in the July AutoTracker Contest.

The other three members in the top 5 are also fully invested in the S-fund. IF they remain there before tomorrow's TSP trade deadline, they are set to beat the S-fund for the month.

Bullet is third for the July standings, but they are also currently third in the 2024 standings as well.

It might be a close finish in the July Contest.

The C-fund is selling ahead of tonight's Microsoft earnings and still faces tomorrow's FOMC meeting. The current number one return for July belongs to Fit2bol and they hold a mix of C and S-fund. Meanwhile, in second place Nospin holds a full deck of S-fund. Fit2bol's diversified allocation is still S-fund heavy so they will likely take the number one spot unless the C-fund drastically underperforms the S-fund over the next two days. But it will be close.

Members are still fighting out the prize positions (Top 5). Skorp64 slipped their way into the fifth position yesterday with their G-fund allocation. They had held the S-fund all month until moving to the G-fund this previous Friday. However, Skorp64 is spending an IFT to move back to the S-fund today.

slsmul is also back in the top but their July return is 0.01% below Skorp64's. With Skorp64 back in the S-fund for the final day of July, they could benefit from a pull-back in the market.

All other members who are beating the S-fund this month and fighting for a top position currently hold 100% S-fund.

MRJ left the S-fund for the G-fund today. A market pull-back tomorrow could now lift them into the top 5 for July.
