Fear not - new sectors are crumbling:

Lockheed Marin announced Wednesday that 600 of its executives applied for buyouts as the company cut costs.

Will likely heighten concerns about further job cuts in the high-paying aerospace and defense industries at a time when the nation’s unemployment rate remains high.

Lockheed reduced its work force by a total of 136,000, since the beginning of last year.

Boeing, another big Pentagon contractor, trimmed 1,700 jobs as part of a reduction of 10,000 jobs across the company.

Northrop Grumman plans to close shipyards.

The loss of jobs comes as Mr. Gates is pushing for more overhead cuts and greater. But top industry executives say that it would be hard to meet Mr. Gates’ goal of saving $100 billion without cutting jobs and closing plants.

What are the odds the number will be revised upward 30,000 next week when they get the data from the other states? They got the pop in the market they wanted this week..... next week it might not matter:nuts:
