JetBlue's stock drops after unit revenue guidance cut, citing disappointing demand trends

Shares of JetBlue Airways Corp. fell 3.3% in premarket trading Wednesday, after the air carrier cut its unit revenue outlook, citing weaker than expected demand trends across the system. The company now expects third-quarter revenue per available seat mile (RASM) growth of negative 2.0% to flat, compared with the previous guidance range of up 0.5% to up 3.5%. JetBlue said the decrease in RASM guidance is also a reflection of softer booking to Puerto Rico and includes a preliminary forecasted impact of Hurricane Dorian. The stock has lost 3.6% over the past three months through Tuesday, while the NYSE Arca Airline Index has lost 7.0% and the S&P 500 has gained 3.7%.
