of course they are. only because the govt has been giving fed tax dollars in the billions to the companies to have the cars make and provided. started with clinton administration, then bush jr who also gave billions away for hydrogen car development, and obama continued to give billions away. this is how there are these small electric car startups, certain people are becoming extremely wealthy even after the company fails. tesla is a result of gettign those billions.

It's only going to get worse with companies coming out of nowhere and lining up to get their slice of the "infrastructure stimulus" allocated to EV charging stations ($7.5B).

But don't worry everybody, the new crypto tax will cover all of this. In a sense, it's ironic because the 30 and under crowd is among the most vocal advocates for electric everything and crypto, and I doubt they've reported their crypto taxes in full the past 5 years. Probably most haven't paid anything at all, but now that taxes are being collected on them, they'll complain that the system is corrupt. Tax the rich they'll say.
