Is autotracker completely messed up?

Thanks burrocrat. I just want to make sure the math is good. Envy is all part of the game and process of being educated about how this all works. Don't mind others doing well. But do need to understand how they do so much more with strong luck. You restored my trust.

if you take a look in my thread, you will see i keep a chart that tracks weekly closing prices of all funds, and some other things. if a person started the year in f-fund, by about january 24 they would've gained about 1%. if they then made a trade into the c-fund which was at about -8% at that time, and then held that trade until now when the c-fund is up +8% (a 16% swing from -8 to +8), then they would be about +17% cumulative on the ytd? makes perfect sense to me. if you click on a person's name in the autotracker you can see what trades and when they made them.

got a little case of tracker envy, huh?

Okay this one will be hard to explain. Here are a few givens.

1) Looking at persons who are NOT PREMIUM members. As their autotracker results should all be public about what trades they have made into and out of various funds.

2) Looking at their YTD results and see something like 16% as an example. That is the YTD measure. Then look at their trades and see they only went into the C fund around the first month (January). No other trades made.

3) Then I look at the C fund and see it only has made 8% this year.

There is no way this person made 16% via staying in the C fund since the first month of the year. They would have needed to have gained 8% just in January from a large increase, and then sustained that in the rest of the months to now with 16% total.

Maybe I am looking at this wrong and am open to correction. But seem to keep seeing this impossibility. That AUTOTRACKER shows some really high gains YTD for some, and yet their trades listed are not showing math to prove that could have happened.

Did I misread AUTOTRACKER? Do many trades for NON-PREMIUM members also get muted (removed, unlisted)? Thought only premium members could have their trades removed from being listed.
