Romney, Paul, Santorum, all within a percent of each other.

Amazing stuff.

What will this do to the stock markets tomorrow?

Up? Or down?

I honestly don't think that the Iowa Caucus will have any impact on the market. Waaay too early in the process to have any meaningful effect.

Two quick charts:

#1- FOUR votes separate #1 and #2.

#2. EACH of the top three candidates just won an equal number of delegates- six apiece for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. 4 for Newt, 3 for Perry.

It could be a long, long primary season, and if no one wins the clear majority- could come down to a brokered convention.

This is from "the guardian"

2.45am: And that's it. Here's a final summary:

Mitt Romney has won Iowa caucuses by a sliver over Rick Santorum, after a long and often farcical night of voting. The former Massachusetts governor took 30,015 votes, and Santorum was only eight behind on 30,007. Santorum capitalized on a late surge in the final days before voting, competing neck and neck with Romney who ended up with a lower share of the vote than in 2008.

This one will sort out the culls, the real fun starts in NH then SC and FL there will be some surprises ahead, ones that the Left won't like.:laugh:

Romney, the eventual nominee, and supporters spent roughly $4,000,000 to win by a margin of 8 votes...out of whopping 12x,xxx votes cast. That's roughly $500,000 for each of those 8 votes. I also found out Perry and supporters spent almost $6,000,000 for his share of the votes.

Talk about economic stimulus!

Don't you just love campaign finance...If only we could spend that money on something useful.

Looks like Romney didn't spend one dollar more than he actually needed to, to win.

I'd say one could make the argument that he can budget pretty good then, eh?

The Newt man will overcome. newt.jpg Bring on the Obama Newt Debate.

The real shocker I see here is the number of people still voting for Rick Perry?!

More of a shocker was they allowed voting on hand written ballots (actually sticky notes), no voter id and even last minute registration!

You guys really seem to be concerned with the GOP nomination process, I think it would be best for you to concentrate on your own candidate instead. Watch SC they will pick the candidate as always, my home state! Don't worry so much, who ever it is he will beat the socks off of Obama.
