Investors across the political spectrum are “petrified” of the 2020 election and the effect it will have on stocks, according to a new report from analyst firm BTIG. The options market tells the story, Julian Emanuel and Michael Chu, strategists at the brokerage firm BTIG, wrote in a note on Sunday. Despite the S&P 500 index hitting record highs throughout the fourth quarter of 2019, they note that options markets are pricing “unprecedented” apprehension over the next year for a number of reasons.
