Sorry but I have been AWOL for almost a month now. Thanks for the reply. Now I know how to figurize the various funds.

a 100% interfund transfer to the G fund. How much would a penny gain that day increase my account?

:o I don't know how to figure, you know what I mean.

If you IFT into the G fund today at 11.23/share, that will give you 8904.7195 shares. With the next increase of 11.24. 8904.7195*11.24=100089.03 ,
An increase of $89.03

Suppose I had a $100,000 account and made

a 100% interfund transfer to the G fund. How much would a penny gain that day increase my account?

Fund Transfers

Tom,
(Background Info:)
I'm fairly new to moving my funds around. I had all of my allocations into the G fund until recently. I moved into the L2040 fund and I am not sure exactly how long it took to actually transfer. I monitored it for a few days and it seemed like it took one pay period to actually take effect and to reflect in the TSP account balance.

(Question:)
If I make a fund transfer, how soon does it post to my account? Can I transfer funds daily, monthly or just from one pay period to the next?
If I can transfer daily or monthly,What is the best route for getting a better rate of return?Common sense says transfer daily into whatever fund is getting the best rate of return in order to get the best monthly and yearly average rate of return. Is that hypothesis true? What do you suggest?

( I know this is probably way below the level you guys are at;but, I'm fairly new to TSP and new to this site ...and it is exactly what I have been looking for!Sound discussions for decision making.)

Very Respectfully,
R.S. Goodrich

The bond rally has fizzled. I am anticipating the G fund paying the penny gain Monday so I am making an interfund transfer this morning going to 100% G. This will be effective 1/30 (COB (1/27).

I was hoping to put a little something in stocks but they are stretched again.
