I'm the FNG here...

Well, thanks to the people here at TSPTalk I have had great information on how to move my 'cheese'..

Since joining here back in Jan I managed to stop my losses and start regaining ground.

Since joining the Online Tracker I am at +7.64% since the beginning of Mar but I am still a n00b with lots and lots and lots to learn.

:)

Well, I am glad I didn't panic and bail out of my C-S-I funds on Tues like I was going to do...

Sometimes you get lucky.

I forgot to mention that I invest in real estate but only as a new home builder. I have been doing it since 1998 with good success. I am small time since I usually only do 3-5 per year as spec's and 2-3 as customs.

I see all the doom and gloom on the news about the bubble popping, but much like politics, real estate is all local. And locally it has been steadily growing. So far this year I have 7 home to do (6 specs as this point and 1 custom). Locally we never saw the huge increase in appreciation that other parts of the US did but now we are not seeing any depreciation either.

LOL That's small time? I know some guys that make you look like the big time.

Welcome to the mb. :D

I assume most of you are familiar with the term. :p

I am 43 and have been in the gov (DoD) for 10 years. I currently put 13% of my pay into my TSP account which is divided into the following:

50% - I Fund
30% - S Fund
20% - C Fund

It seem to have been a good aggressive mix until now. I am not one who panics easily having left my account alone thru the dotcom bust and 9/11.

However, now I am a bit more sensitive to loss since I have built up a modest amount of money in my TSP and I can kinda see the light at the end of tunnel with respect to retirement.

I am joining this site with the intent to maximize my growth and minimize my loss to the best I can.

I have down loaded the Excel TSPLookup2 and am learning how to use it now.

I am looking forward to learning all I can from you whom are far more knowledgeable than I.

Very Respectfully,

Asylum
