I write a blog about TSP/IRA rollovers. If you are looking for some general information on how to roll your tsp into another asset class you may want to take a look. Since we just started working with tsptalk.com, we are also offering a 5% fee TSP rollover into precious metals for the first 5 tsptalk members who participate. If you have been considering precious metals as ONE of the baskets to store your retirement eggs--you will at least want to read the article below. You will definitely find it beneficial. If you have any questions, you can also fill out the form on the link page and someone will contact you to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Anthony,

Nothing personal...”it’s just business”...BUT...you could’ve chosen a less-aggressive subject line for your post. We’ve ALL screwed up our investment decisions, at one time or another...Although I “feel” for “John’s” mistake, AND there is a valuable nugget (pun intended ! :) ) there on your blog post for the TSP Talk members and visitors, your presentation of the info could’ve been made more generic...perhaps a post to the “Retirement” thread, discussing the specifics of the “One Withdrawal Rule”, or a post to the “Commodities” thread on why, in your opinion, investing in precious metals makes sense right now...the “Pros and Cons” , vs. all other asset classes .

I make no judgement on your investment advice, or your Company...merely pointing out that there is a board FULL of smart people here, who offer either free or subscription investment "opinions", AND their experiences with the “in’s and out’s” of dealing with the TSP ! We might benefit from your experience, and GENERIC investment advice...but don’t turn it into a campaign for new accounts !

Tom,

I’m a little disappointed with TSP Talk, that we’re now allowing a post on the boards whose intent seems to be to scare people (via the subject line), and who is drumming up business for his company/commercial product or service. I tolerate the ads on the site, because I realize that’s your way to recoup some of your operating expenses, and I’ll click on an ad if I see something that interests me. However, a blatant post, on the board, for a “commercial” product or service turns me off...even WITH a 5% “fee” !!! If this is your new business model, then allow every other company out there to make “special offers” for TSP Talk members, as well ! Perhaps a special thread, or area, where one can go and read the “commercial” posts, if you choose...kinda’ like the “political” area !

Just the opinion of 1 of 10,647 TSP Talk Members !

I did approve aray to post and promote his service in exchange for content that might help members, so don't blame him. He also offered to pay for an ad on the site. Unfortunately his post wasn't what I had in mind. Looks more like an advertisement than content. If that's the plan I'll have to reconsider. As far as scaring people, I don't know about that. The Hindenburg Omen posts seem a little scarier. :)
