Sitting on my patio listening to practice for the supermarket fresh oil 850. It always amazes me how well I can hear the cars as the track is seven miles away. It's a good weekend to stay off the roads as a lot of fans seem to think they are race car drivers. Guess I am getting old, in my younger days I would have been down at the track.

Only 15 miles to go in the last race. Maybe time to take a little drive somewhere...NOT.

I had to go to work yesterday afternoon and wondered about those loooong lines of cars at the left turns. Some weren't waiting for the arrows and were going outside.

On my way home I was aware of one thing - my exit ramp on 10 closed for race traffic, and noticed another - gas prices between work and the race track went up $.13 per. Some of those die hards who demand premium name brand were paying $3.89.

Thanks to all NASCAR fans for spending your money here. Trust me the money you paid for gas didn't stay here. We appreciate the rest of it.
