Does anyone know if we gained the shares back on june 9, 2005 when the I fund had a 3-1 split

Welcome keiser! The I fund was not affected by the split. It was only the EFA share price that split. The shares in the I fund remained the same.

Split it

Will it ever split?
I feel sorry for the folks buying into the I at over $20 a share; it's gettin' close.

I don't think that TSP funds can "split" as stocks do... or really, any index or mutual fund (at least that I am aware of). I believe that the purpose of a stock splitting is to reduce share price so that it is more accessible to investors. As "share prices" in the TSP funds are really just a way to keep track of an individual participants contributions relative to allocations, the purpose of "splitting" is really moot for this circumstance.
