How accurate are the TSP projected balances on EBIS?

I'm not retiring any time soon, but I suppose it's never too early to start planning.

I'm sure you're allfamiliar with the EBIS website, https://www.ebis.army.mil...

Those projected balances that tell how much you will have when you retire at age 57, 60, and 63 assuming a 4%, 6% or 8% growth rate... Are they close, or over-exaggerated?

If they're accurate, I'd be very pleased, but I don't want to put all my faith in the TSP only to find out 30 years from now that the TSP folks forgot to carry a decimal point or something... :)

Thanks in advance,

Hello, AL. I couldn't get in to your site, but if it is like that on TSP.gov, it has its problems. The tsp calculator does not take account of pay raises --step/grade increases --or annual COLA's.Nor is there away I can discern to take account of over-50 catch-up contributions and their future growth.

But you will not have to wait 30 years to find out -- you get a quarterly statement!
