Hotwings Account Talk

I know it's more complex than this, but the tumble in gold continues and that's an index of fear. Those that have been waiting for an imminent crash and have been raising cash and buying gold are on the losing end, and I personally know a few of those folks.

Can The Market Go Up From Here?

The BLUF: "Statistically, over time, the market tends to generate a return that is roughly 6% above the risk free rate. Over long periods of
time - the length of time necessary to realize any substantial gains in the market - the correct course of action is to remain
long equities. You buy equities and you hold them through recessions, depressions, wars and political instability. You ignore
the news; you don’t react to it. You don’t try to predict it; you don’t let yourself think you are smarter than the market. You bet
on the base rate. "

Decision Point®: Being Street Smart -- Sy Harding

Like I did with the bank stocks a couple years ago, I'm dipping my toes and allocating a small percentage of my investment funds to buy some of the dogs of 2013....CLF, BTU and AKS.
Happy New Years 2014... I wish you all best of health, happiness, good times with family and friends and last but not least...prosperity.

The Jobs Report Rained On New Fed Chair Yellen's Honeymoon Period.

"It does play into my expectation that favorable seasonality and the support of the Fed will keep the market positive until April or May, but with the potential for a short-term correction first to alleviate the short-term overbought conditions and cool off the extreme bullish investor sentiment."

Staying long...

Re: Hotwing's Investment Talk

Ouch!! It was a little painful today. Could see some additional selling on Monday. I did pick up some KEY, C and BTU today.

Staying long with my long term portfolio.

Although I'm pretty long, I do have some timber sitting in the "G" fund waiting to be invested.

Bottom line, "That expected rally off the oversold condition is underway. Perhaps strangely, it seems to be in reaction to the dismal jobs report. Will it have legs?
Probably not. There are reasons to believe the expected short-term correction is not over yet, the continuing dismal economic reports being part of that equation.
Investors may want to be slow to jump back in until there is at least some evidence that the U.S. and global economic problems are merely temporary, merely weather-related."

With that being said, check out the following link from someone I respect alot and invest with caution.

I read this in an article on the Nextgov website tonight.....

"TSP spokeswoman Kim Weaver, said in an email, "Your question is particularly timely. On Saturday, May 10, we will be changing the password requirements for our participants to access their account data. The new password will be 10 to 32 characters long; upper case/lower case alphanumeric with special characters."
