Without getting political, I’ll say this: 260,00 is only the tip of the deaths so far. This will continue for some time.

I am hearing they MAY have enough vaccine manufactured to get the first 5 million people inoculated by March or April. Then perhaps 20 million more by the late summer next year. This isn’t going to be over for a long, long time, and many more dead will happen before it is.

I’m hunkering down, hoping the Senate can do a relief bill soon, (because people ARE dying), and I am hoping science can dig us out before a lot more people die.

Market upside is just a temporary condition. We all know that at some point, someday- reality is going to hit again, and the bottom will have to fall out for a while.

u do understand that the numbers a skewed. since the hospital corporations, greedy CEOs and the states get their cut get more fed money when every patient or death is listed as c19. So fear is abound, we really don't know how dangerous it is, except it is not a level 3, 4 or 5 virus. although the news media with over a billion mentions of COV-19 lets many think it is.

One has to account for the comorbidities. Since Feb 1 thru Nov 7 of this year the following diseases have killed Americans: Flu (40,376), Diabetes (75,278), Alzheimer's (100,751), Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease (114,680), Stroke (119,917), COVID-19 (230,409), Cancer (460,040) and Heart Disease (518,495). From what I've heard, if any of the folks with any of these diseases ALSO tested positive for COVID-19, then it was considered a COVID-19 death. As we all know, COVID-19 does not cause cancer.

A great number of people without any comorbidity have not died from COVID-19. Though, I do agree that even one COVID-19 death is terribly tragic.

Agree, but that's still on the very low end of initial projections.

NY Times (never any fake news there) article from March.

As many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.

And, the calculations based on the C.D.C.’s scenarios suggested, 2.4 million to 21 million people in the United States could require hospitalization, potentially crushing the nation’s medical system, which has only about 925,000 staffed hospital beds.

I'd say the uncertainty is gone with the vaccine and possibility of herd immunity by June. Deaths, no matter how inaccurately they've been tallied, have not lived up to the initial hype.

I think 260,000 plus Americans dead from corona virus not living up to the initial hype are still TOO MANY AMERICANS DEAD!!!

There is such a delay in the test results, those that get the virus this week won't even be on the record for at least two weeks.

Markets aren't too concerned. I'd say the uncertainty is gone with the vaccine and possibility of herd immunity by June. Deaths, no matter how inaccurately they've been tallied, have not lived up to the initial hype.

However, short interest ratio is very low right now, but that could be a problem if there is a drop and nobody is there to cover the fall.

We’ve seen a new spike in coronavirus caseloads and fatalities. The possibility of several vaccines being available in the near future is good news, but it will take weeks or months before most Americans get their injections (the vaccine will initially be limited to the most vulnerable citizens, which is good public health policy).

So, are you ready for the Great Business Lockdown Part II? You may be ready, but small businesses definitely are not.
