CDC: 383 People In 30 States Infected With Salmonella
Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday that 383 people in 30 states and Washington D.C. have been infected with Salmonella Saintpaul with raw tomatoes as the most likely culprit. Texas had the largest number of cases with 131 people affected while New Mexico had 70 followed by Illinois at 34. So far, at least 48 people have been hospitalized. Although no deaths have been linked to the outbreak, an elderly man who died in Texas from cancer had an infection with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Saintpaul at the time of his death.
