Happy National Donut Day!

Growing up in the Los Angeles area, Randy's Donuts were the best. When you saw that big ol' donut from the 405 you knew the sugar fix was on.

I loved Circus Donuts haven't seen one in years. Their donuts were 3 times bigger than the rest, I'm salivating please excuse me.
Here's one, still around I guess.

I have my own little donut story. When my daughter was in her last year of college she was appointed battalion commander of her Army ROTC unit. She had an evening shift part-time job in a donut shop and when word got out that she was in Army ROTC several of the local hardcore motorcycle riders of the Vietnam era types started showing up to buy donuts and coffee and eventually business began to grow. Those guys were so darn proud that a cute girl was a patriot and willing to make a sacrifice for her country. She ended up serving 18 months in Iraq with the 25th Infantry Division. And I'm still proud to this day.

Time to make the Donuts!
