Guitar Legend Dies

Even today I look at my 68 custom and admire the art, craftsmanship, and functionality that went into making the most beautifully juicy sounding guitar in the world.
Cool, JTH! Sounds nice. I bought a new one back in the late 90's while on a quest to find the right guitar for me. I had an ovation and an Washburn electric, but a mid-life crisis in my mid-30's and I was off and looking.

This was back when Ebay first started so I went through several - buying and re-selling until I found the right one.

I bought a beautiful Hamer, an LP Standard, then I bought an amazing Custom LP from a local shop. After about a year, I decided to sell it because it was too nice. Really. It was hanging on my wall - like art - and I was more worried about scratching it than how it sounded.

So, I sold it on Ebay, getting basically what I paid for it out of it, and bought a cheap Mexican made Fender Strat and that is what I still play. I also have a 1983 Martin (accoustic) that I bought used and is a little nicked up, but it sounds and plays great.

Any other Les Paul stories?...

I’m happy he stayed with us and was able to play music for so long. He played such a pivotal role in our musical history and there will never be another like him, he simply can’t be replaced. Les Paul wasn't just a legend, he was a creator of legends. Even today I look at my 68 custom and admire the art, craftsmanship, and functionality that went into making the most beautifully juicy sounding guitar in the world.

The Legacy he leaves and the guitar that bears his name will live on forever.

That's the beauty of 'Music' - it is something that never dies ;) and those that create it - form it - and let it flow from their being are in essense complementing and adding to the 'Natural Beauty' that is all around us.

Hendrix is far from dead - His music is felt in many songs from people who may not even realize 'it is his style and influence' which brought it to life.

SO TOO with Les Paul
