European stocks turned lower in morning trading, as global markets endured choppy trading ahead of high-level talks in Washington between the US and China. The Europe-wide Stoxx 600 reversed early gains to trade 0.3 per cent lower, after a flurry of trade headlines sparked market volatility overnight. Liu He, China’s vice premier, will resume trade talks with Robert Lighthizer, US trade representative and Steven Mnuchin, the US Treasury secretary, on Thursday and Friday.
