If I IFT all my S fund and I fund into the G fund, then couple days later the market drops, can I pull it out of G and put it in other funds?
Thanks

Yes, but....you only get two days worth of moves in a month. If you use one day to pull everything out of S & I, and move to G, then you only have one more move left. Use that day's move to go back into stocks again, and you're out of moves. After the second move, you can ONLY move to "G" from there out, according to the rules, until you get to the next month.

Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'm lookin to score on an upcoming correction! All this anxiety in the market here and in Europe might have that correction right around the corner.

This is what I was trying to explain the other day in your thread. I think you used an Interfund Transfer (IFT) this month already to go from one stock fund to another. Now you only have 1 IFT left for the calendar month of September. If you go to G, you can't get back out until COB the first trading day of Oct. Be careful.

If you start a month in one of the stock/bond funds, you can sell to G (1st IFT), then buy back in (2nd IFT). You could then make a 3rd IFT by selling to G again. Someone else (RMI, hint, hint ;)) who is quick at looking through old threads ought to post a link here.

Not sure what there is to look up, seems like you have it all covered Sensei :)

One of the bestest things about TSPTalk is the education aspect. Not about what to do with your funds, that is opinion only. About how the funds work.

Start here: https://www.tsp.gov/investmentfunds/investmentFunds.shtml
look at all the links, digest them and then if you still have questions, come here.

You probably will, it is a .gov site. Search and if you can't find an answer, ask. We all started out wondering how it all works.
