Fed hikes rate, lowers 2019 projection to 2 increases

-The Fed take the target range for its benchmark funds rate to 2.25 percent to 2.5 percent.

-Central bank officials now forecast two hikes next year, down from three rate raises previously projected.

-However, the Fed continues to include in its statement that further "gradual" rate hikes would be appropriate.

-GDP is now seen as rising 3 percent for the full year of 2018, down one-tenth of a percentage point from September, and 2.3 percent for 2019, a 0.2 percent point reduction.

Stocks tanking in response. S&P 500 now down -1. 71% on the news of the hike and change in outlook.

Hmmmm. December continues its ugly roll downhill!

We got what was expected out of the Fed meeting today and the market reacts very negatively, even though most experts 66-75% were saying a rate hike was coming, I thought that was already baked into the monthly returns lol

The rate hike wasn't a surprise to most, but folks were expecting a little more of a dovish attitude going forward but it sounds like they are pretty determined to hike twice more in 2019.

There's 50 minutes left for the capitulation to finish and reversal to start.

The Federal Reserve had to show Donald who runs the show. It's basic math, money rules the world and the Fed is the biggest bank in the world.
