Hello, I'm retired military and now a federal civilian. I was wondering if there are any disadvantages to combining my military and civilian TSP accounts? I don't have any bonus/special pay in my military, so all should transfer over. I know the advantge to combining is that it will let me do interfund transfers in my civilian account. Any pitfalls I should be aware of? Thanks!

None that I am aware of at all. It just allows you to move all your money with one transaction (IFT) request, vice doing one in your Civ Account then one in your Mil Account. TSP is TSP regardless of Mil or Civ, they are both work the same way. Just makes it convenient to have them combined.
