DirectBuy Scam

:DJust wanted to let everyone know yall saved my in-laws alot of money.

Background:

My inlaws were looking into Directbuy and even had an appointment to meet with the sales reps. They are in the process of building another house and need everything new to include furniture. They asked me about Direct buy and I say yall comments which caused me to do a little research. End result they are not attending their appointment. So thanks again for helping make a wise and sound financial decision. Exactly what the boards are all about. :D

There was this member's only club I almost joined like this many years ago..same thing though, pay a whooping membership fee and get some discounts on stuff..

Thanks Tom, for the heads up..

Like the old saying, "If it's too good to be true, it'll cost ya";)

My wife and I had an appointment about 6 months ago but they wouldn't let us bring our son (6 months old at the time) so we told them to have a nice day.

Jim,
We experience almost the same exact thing. Super high pressure. Snotty and rude if you don't throw money at them.

Wow, I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing - you saved me the trouble of going through that.

My wife wanted to go to the DirectBuy show room to check out kitchen cabinets. We went to our 12:15 "appointment". We left at 12:17 when our "consultant", i.e. high pressure sales guy, informed us that we would have to sit through a 40 minute presentation - longer if we interrupted him!

Apparently, DirectBuy is in the business of selling lifetime memberships for $5-6K. They won't let you see their "deep discount" catalogs until you have purchased the membership. Beware! -----Jim
