Deploying as DOD Civilian, any TSP Implications?

I am deploying as a DOD Civilian in the next few weeks. I will be deployed less than 90days. I know for the military folks the annual contribution ceiling is raised, but what about for the civilian folks? I already max out my yearly contributions, but does the ceiling raise while I am deployed or is it business as usual?

I am presently deployed (GovtCivilian, not DOD) and will be for 7 months. I could find no documentation allowing the TSP ceiling to be raised.

Question on being maxed out already, how does that affect matching funds?

The $49,0000 is only for Active Duty Military and any Civilian called up to Active Duty. If called up to Active Duty the comination of your Civilian account and Active Duty account can not go over the $49,000. Just confirmed that with TSP on the phone.

Oh man, that would be worth going back into my old Navy DOD Navy Tech Rep job... as I recall back in the early 1990's when I deployed, all of my Sailors were getting combat pay and no taxes... I think they allowed me free postage for mailing letters home, but that was about it for me.... I vote any DOD civilian working in a combat zone be able to max up their TSP plus no taxes... And oh yeah, add free postage too... My hats off to anyone serving, in or out of active duty!!!
