How China’s new AI model DeepSeek is threatening U.S. dominance

A little-known artificial intelligence lab out of China has ignited panic throughout Silicon Valley after releasing AI models that can outperform America’s best despite being built more cheaply and with less-powerful chip.

In a set of third-party benchmark tests, DeepSeek’s model outperformed Meta’s Llama 3.1, OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 3.5 in accuracy ranging from complex problem-solving to math and coding.

Only 17% accurate????? That's not very good, is it....... LMAO :ROFLMAO: 🤪 😲

""The importance of the DeepSeek breakthrough is not in answering Chinese news-related question accurately, it is in the fact that it can answer any question at 1/30th of the cost of comparable AI models," D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria said."

You get what you pay for! Wait, you want correct answers? Oh, no we can't do that. But we'll give you wrong answers for 1/30th the cost!

Can't believe we had a market selloff for this junk. People got scared before they knew anything about it. Good article, thanks for sharing, Epic.
