It's a 26,000 year calendar I believe. That's the same as it takes the earth to make a full procession about its axis. That's if you draw a line throught the poles and trace out the path it makes above the pole it make a cone shape. That's why the north star moves over the ages.

Just thought that was an interesting coincidence. Or maybe not. Maybe, ancient aliens taught it to them.
