I still have an analog TV, it works perfectly fine. Well, starting later this month, it's not going to be fine. I'm already spending $65 a month for the TV side (internet around $50, in addition). So, now Comcast wants to make me rent a converter box at $10 a month, and I have to use theirs. I get more channels that I don't need, in exchange. I mostly watch news, History Channel, Discovery, and Animal Planet.
About ready to throw out Cable TV and do it all through a Roku, and subscribe to Netflix and possibly Hulu Plus (if I even need it with an analog TV). Is anyone else doing this, and how is it working? BTW, I"m in a hilly and forested area so an antenna probably isn't going to be the answer unless I get one of those very expensive huge rooftop ones.
Also, I can get Verizon Fios internet for about the same as Comcast, should I throw Comcrashed out the window completely?
Hi Silverbird,
I don't know what size your analog TV is but Heck You can buy a New 26" Digital Flat screen TV at almost any Brick & Mortar Store for under $200.00
now.
20 $10.00 payments to Comcast would have bought you this TV upfront and you don't need the special analog to digital converter box from Comcast.
Get rid of the Analog. Thats my opinion.
