Since I was out of the football challenge pretty early, I was wondering if anyone else is participating in the CNBC Million Dollar Challenge. As of the close today, I'm in the top .06% at position number 363 with a total return of 43.50% (45.96% in equities and 21.38% in currencies). I believe there is over 600000 participates so I guess it's not too bad. The leader has a return of over 108% so I'm pretty sure I won't win the million. :(

Wow, congrats... nice return...

been playing just for fun, only been in it since 10/3, have turned my mil into 1.121 mil (not bad for two weeks), now if only i could do that with real money! In 35360th place! woot!

Not bad for 600K entries. I should have gotten in but I probably would have embarrassed myself. :)

ANDS up 250% today. Someone is going to make a big move up the leadeboard on that one. :)

Well I fell to 769 out of over 600000 with my 43% return. I was really curious how the leader went from 1 million to over 10 million in just about one month, now I know. Got this in an email. Now I get to start all over.......... Not too late to sign up if you're interested!

"Trading in CNBC's Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge was suspended as of close of trading today at 4:00 p.m. ET for one week.

It came to our attention that there was a technical glitch in the current equity trading system, which a handful of players found and exploited to jump to the top of the leaderboard. The contest accidentally allowed what our rules specifically prohibited.

Out of fairness to all registered contestants and as is our right, according to the rules of the contest, we are suspending the contest and will restart it Sunday, October 30 at 5:00 p.m. ET. Upon relaunch, all player accounts will be reset to their opening balance. Play will begin anew for the final five weeks of the contest. All winners from the first five weeks, including this week, will retain their prizes.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but fundamental fairness compels us to take this action."

I'll be joining in this time around. Watch out!

Edit: Anyone know what the glitch was?
