China warns USA about trade war

Just remember... its better for us to have WWIII while we are strong as opposed to the same later down the road when we are weak. Gotta get up and fight for yourself (economically and physically if need be). The World is not kind to the meek and weak and politically correct. History is very clear about that....to the winner goes the spoils. Its the law of the jungle! But still pray that God will help us.

I disagree, the consequences of war between superpowers were bad enough back in the 1940's, but now everybody's got nukes. I'm all for winning the trade war, but in these times, things are different. In the past we could march into war knowing we had the bigger stick and would win, but when militaries these days have the power to destroy the planet many times over, we need to think a lot more carefully. This isn't about being meek or politically correct, but just being aware of the consequences. If people were afraid of a potential conflict with North Korea, then they really shouldn't take China lightly. It's like comparing a koala to a grizzly. And if it's a world war, I would wonder how long it would take before an invaded country would get desperate enough to push the red button, potentially causing an all out nuclear war. I just don't see an outcome that would be good for anybody, I'm just hoping the next 'war' doesn't involve a battlefield.

In any case I don't think the worst case scenario will happen, but there will definitely be some nuclear activity in the market if they can't play nicely lol.

I think WWIII would be more of a cyber war. You hack our electric grid, we ruin your credit score and post fake tweets in your account. :)

Sorry to make light of it, but I'm not too concerned ... yet.

I bet on Trump not giving in.... Which may not be good for market short-term but good for US long-term. Someone must blink or wimper a little.... Will be interesting to see.... But I am thinking to not be all in.

Well it depends, I certainly hope it's good for us in the long run. However, if god forbid the worst case scenario happens and it results in WW3 I don't think that's good for anybody. Let's hope it's just a bunch of fluffing and posturing

I am always concerned when other nuclear powers engage in a “d*ck measuring contest”, as you so aptly put it, Sniper.

We are approaching some real critical event timelines. The additional tariffs are about to kick in, and our rather fragile recovery here has taken several months of instability reference points. No TPP; a re-negotiation of NAFTA that we really don’t have anything firm and signed yet; three rounds of “my tariffs are longer than your balance sheet”; rising interest rates, and slackening demand fir automobile big ticket items, all have made the markets perk up their ears here.

Let us hope that cooler heads and steady hands go easy for a while. Stability is a desirable state in the near term. We could use some.

WHOA, World War? I don't think this talk will go well at all. Tough talk will just rile up Trump more and we'll have a d*ck measuring contest like NK, but worse. China IS actually a threat.

After months of growing friction and escalating tariffs, President Trump will meet this weekend in Argentina with Chinese President Xi Jinping in a face-off that could prove pivotal not only for U.S. businesses and consumers, but also for the global economy and increasingly fragile international order.
