Checking In

Hello everyone.

I'm currently in my mid-20's and just now starting to take a real interest in retirement and investment planning.

I've learned quite a bit in just a few days of reading on this forum and hope to learn even more.

Thanks in advance for the warm welcoming!

Welcome aboard and good luck.

Glad you are starting so early. My youngest just opened up her IRA with Schwab... sniff, sniff... I am so proud ;)

Thanks again. I tried reading up a bit more over the weekend and will likely begin an account talk thread to try and follow/discuss things in more detail.

With student loans, a car to payoff, and an upcoming wedding, the general idea of savings (and maxing out TSP contributions) seems daunting.

Welcome Cosme.

Feel free to ask any questions, their are no stupid questions.

IMO being in your mid-20's I would forget about the G Fund. If you don't want to be in equities go to the F Fund, it usually goes opposite equitites and doesn't loss much when it does. It might not go your way every time, but in the long run it beats the G Fund and mid-20's you have long run on your side.
