Beaver's Mom, dead at 94

Barbara Billingsley, the actress who played Beaver's Mom - June Cleaver in the 1950s television series "Leave it to Beaver", died Saturday after a long illness. She was 94.

RIP June Cleaver. I spent a lot of time with your TV family. Just another indication some of us are getting a lot older.

I do hope this was not an unintended consequence of Ward's treatment of the beaver in the past. We do remember you lamenting that he was pretty hard on the beaver some times. No one will ever convince me that the writers were not aware of the double entendre.

Whatever, you were a great TV Mom. Right up there with June Lockhart and Jane Wyatt.
