AutoTracker Prizes

I guess I should go to the AutoTracker and say HI just to be on the safe side. Just incase I get into a tie with someone. :D

May I still redeem something for November?

Prizes, eligibility, and requirements:

9. You must successfully log into your AutoTracker account and / or have posted on the message board within the last 60 days to be eligible for the monthly and annual prizes** and your account could, at the disgression of the administrator, be removed from the Autotracker.

· This free service is intended for active TSP Talk message board members. If you do not make any interfund transfers for 60 days, simply login to the AutoTracker and/or post to the message board every couple months so we know you are still participating on the board. If you fail to log into your AutoTracker account or post on the board for more than 60-days, you will not be eligible for any monthly or annual prizes** awarded.

· The top 5 are given prizes**, but we will pay up to 10 places in the event of ties. If there are still members tied after 10 places, the tie will be broken by the least number of days since your last login to the AutoTracker.

** Monthly and annual prize winners will be notified via PM and will have 60 days to claim their prize. You might want to make sure that we have your current email address and that you have checked the box for "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages" in your Profile.

got my shirt shirt yesterday and i love it tom! nice quality.

now i have a hat and shirt :) just need a jacket now!

I just hope you're making some money on this site, Tom. This is a fun site (esp when I'm doing well) and it looks like a lot of work to me so I hope it continues to be worth it to you.

I like the idea of a ball cap. Maybe a pennant-like thing like sports teams have so winners can hang it at work and show off ;-) I also like the idea of logos/icons to identify winners. That way it would be easier for me to pick out those people and study how and when they make their IFTs.

Wind breakers and fleece pullovers are cool, as are pens, mugs/cups, t-shirts, mouse pads, etc. You may even consider simple toys that those of us with kids might choose to give to our little ones to throw around the house.

Bummer! Those darn postal workers. :D

I just took a look at one of my cups to see what you were talking about, and while it was not broken, it easily came apart - the whole cup. As if the seems were not glued well. Of course my wife probably had it sitting in her car for a week baking in the sun, but still. I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher either.

Another good reason to move to a more quality travel cup.

Just received my two 16oz ringed travel mugs, thanks Tom! I have to admit I like the 16oz sporty traveler mugs a bit better. Also, one of the mugs came broken. The bottom of the inside part of the mug has a screw in it that connects to the bottom plastic piece for some reason. Anyway, the plastic molding around this screw was in several different pieces. Just letting you know because the way it was packaged, it looks like a supplier issue, in case anyone else has this problem.

Actually, I think any one of these things would be good. But it occurs to me that it be a good idea to have a specialized logo - TSP TALK TOP TRADER or some such. (Instead of a trophy, I'd do a plaque.) That way, its good advertising for TSP TALK, its good recognition for the winner and its something that will draw attention and hopefully make people start asking questions.

You might also have a "tier" of winners .. say you want to award the top 5% of those in the AutoTracker. ( That might mean a lot depending upon how many people are in the tracker ). Of those top 5%, the top 20% get "Tier 1" gifts, those in the top 20-40% get "Tier 2" gifts, etc.

We need to continue to bring more folks to this site.

1. Calender with TSP LOGO to display at the office.

2. Something to hang on the door at the office displaying Montly winner.

3. Hoodie is an obvious winner.

4. Key chain.

Thanks for the continued feedback. It looks like a free month of a premium service is an obvious prize to add.

We used to do the title changes, but to be honest, I had a hard time remembering to update them and take down the old ones. I gave up.

I did find some nice hot or cold travel mugs for those who prefer cold drinks...

Tom,

Three things:
  • Not everybody who 'wins' a month or even a year has a system. Although I have yet to win anything, I think many would appreciate an introduction to various systems that could help them continue their winning ways. So a month of access to premium subscriptions would be a good prize.
  • And, I like the idea of an icon by the bubbas who make the grade. Maybe a 'counter' on the number of times an individual 'wins' the monthly. Kinda bragging rights. To make things more complicated, maybe a negative counter when those self-same bubbas bang on the bottom. Yuk, yuk... The problem with this is that TSPTalk really has no 'risk' concept. Winners may be taking more risk than others should be taking.
  • Finally, something safe for work that triggers interest in TSPTalk and TSP itself. Mouse pads, jacket, sweatshirt. Some of us cannot use things like USB drives and can't change our Central Planned computers (although we can change our background - even on Non-Mission Capable Internet [NMCI] computers). That is why I like the coffee mugs. Maybe an image (kinda trophy like) with the month or year won - relatively easy, but it would be like a on-going plaque.

Regardless, this site is a community. We aren't fighting for spots. Most of us are seeking information and companionship. If all I wanted was to be the 'King of the Trading Hill' I wouldn't be working in the computer field as a government employee - eh...

With the large increase in the number of participants on the AutoTracker (despite a large chunk of idle accounts that were deleted from the 2010 AT) I want to beef up the monthly prize pool quality a little.

I,d go with these suggestions; windbreaker type jackets, laptop carriers, student bookbags, large cariers of notes ( sort of like what a kid uses to deliver newspapers?)

I would agree with JTH and Poolman. I think free access to premium service for a year maybe even better.
A year? I was thinking a free month. ;) A mug is only about $15. A year's service is worth up to $200. Maybe the final full year winner can be given a full year's PS subsciption.
