Asia stocks slip as Trump faces impeachment inquiry
Stock across Asia-Pacific were slightly lower on Wednesday after Donald Trump became the fourth US president to face impeachment proceedings, while the dollar rebounded. In early afternoon trading in the region, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 1 per cent, while China’s CSI 300 of Shanghai- and Shenzhen-listed shares was down 0.5 per cent. Japan’s Topix edged 0.2 per cent lower, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 0.4 per cent and South Korea’s Kospi index 1 per cent.
