[$$] Asia stocks lower as focus remains on Turkey contagion
Asia-Pacific stocks weakened on Wednesday and the US dollar hit a fresh 14-month high as concerns over Turkey lingered and attention turned to Indonesia’s currency. The euro was 0.2 per cent weaker at $1.1325 after slipping on Monday on fears of European banks’ exposure to Turkey. The rupiah — which was swept up in Turkey’s turmoil this week along with other emerging market currencies — was trading 0.3 per cent lower at 14,625 against the dollar on Wednesday.
