[$$] Asia equities buoyed as S&P 500 nears record
Asia-Pacific stocks were mostly in positive territory and currencies were steady as a strong day for equities and oil prices in the US helped to offset fresh trade tension with China. Brent crude was flat at $74.64 a barrel while West Texas Intermediate was up by 0.2 per cent at $69.28.
