Any mountain bikers here?

Yeah, hopefully I'm earning/getting my pedal pounding legs when I go to an AM bike..perhaps later this year..looking at the Process DL or Abra Cadabra..at least 2 chainrings up front. I still prefer 26" over anything (maybe a 650b)..good to hear..thanks.

I ride XC on a titus racer x. It weighs about 26# and is a ton of fun. It is a 7ish year old bike so it has 26" wheels and only 4" travel...so very outdated compared to most modern bikes. That said, I still absolutely love riding it.

I think you would REALLY appreciate shedding some weight. 39# is literally unthinkable in my mind, unless of course you only riding ski lifts to the top and using gravity for power. Unless you are doing primarily DH riding don't bother with those beasties. AM is what most folks I know, even the devout XC riders, are switching to. Mainly because the AM weights have come down so much. If you want a very good bike at very good value I think it is really hard to beat Specialized. Haven't ridden the most recent models but the Camber always seemed to be a very nice package in my mind. Very similar design to my bike but available in a couple different varieties. Yeah, a good bike will cost you. I bought mine used for a hair over $2k. A guy like me rides a few times a week, in summer, and I've owned it about 3 years now. I haven't regretted spending that money once.

I dabbled in mouintain biking back in the 80's and then as life progressed I became detached. But alas, I got my "second"? bike last year (Kona Coiler Primo) and I'm back in the sport. It's a heavy pig (abot 39 lbs), I pay for it on the uphills, but on the downhills it is fantastic. I'm looking already for a more of a a lighter AM bike..looking at the Kona Process DL or Abra Cadabra..who else here likes to ride? AM? FR? DH? XC?
