RMI,

I'll be sure to do that. I've read through a lot of threads which is one reason why I'm having trouble thinking of questions :)

... My only hope is other people that tested do worse than me, as bad as that sounds.
Um, this IS how you get promoted....LOL - everyone HAS to not do their part to help you do yours...haha
I have started studying for next year. As long as they don't change the PDG, I should be good to go!

Good Luck!

JR,

Thanks! I'm still brainstorming up some questions to help pick everyone's brain. Hopefully I'll have some ready to fire off soon!

SMSgt Frixxxx,

Thank you for the sound advice. There is truth in what you say. When I got home after testing, I went straight to the PDG to check my answers to some of the questions I knew I answered wrong.

After doing the maths, I have to score in the mid 80s (tested PDG only) to make up for TIG points and meet the cutoff average from last year. My only hope is other people that tested do worse than me, as bad as that sounds.

Just another FNG introduction :) I stumbled across this website during my deployment to Iraq last year. I enjoy reading through the threads and finally got the nerve to sign up.

Hey flipman,

Glad you signed up! This is a great place to learn about taking control of your investments in your TSP account. There are a lot of smart and friendly folks around here, so don't hesitate to read as much as you can and ask lots of questions.

Good luck!

JR

Thanks Frixxxx!

I tested this past March, but I don't think I'll have enough points to make it. My hope is to make it next year for sure!

INVEST:
to put something to use, by purchase or expenditure, in something offering potential profitable returns, as interest, income, or appreciation in value.

Remember, the time you invest to make TSgt returns more than you can get as a SSgt. Just like investing your money to get more out of your earnings. Study!

I hope you make it this year, but you should have already started investing for next year. By that time, you'll be able to remember the questions you didn't know by counting them on 1 hand.

C ya around!

Frixxxx (SMSgt)

Welcome SSgt flipman!

Congrats on making one of the best decisions ever!

Hope to see you with TSgt soon! That way, you'll have more money to invest!

Good luck and ask away!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Intrepid Timer - softball practices have been starting up here since the weather has warmed up out here.

Hello everyone!

Just another FNG introduction :) I stumbled across this website during my deployment to Iraq last year. I enjoy reading through the threads and finally got the nerve to sign up.

I'm an Air Force Staff Sergeant stationed at Ft. Meade, MD. I'm new to the retirement saving/investing game. My Public Affairs Officer during my deployment really caught my ear with preparing for my future after the military. He kind of lit the fire under my butt to get the ball rolling now instead of waiting until 2 years left of my military career. Unfortunately, I don't have any good advice or info since I'm still learning the ropes. Although, I'm hoping I can change that through learning from this site and other info sources.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post! I'm looking forward to knowledge expansion!

Played in a few softball and football tournaments at Ft. Meade while I was stationed at Ft. Detrick. Welcome aboard!
