A couple of spreadsheets

I received a PM asking how I get the I Fund price, but I couldn't figure out how to send an attachment through PM, so here I am posting it for everyone.

The attachment has a zip file. When unzipped, there will be two Excel files. The first one, I.Fund.EAFE.History.Net.current.xls , is a spreadsheet I download from:

http://www.mscibarra.com/products/indices/stdindex/performance.jsp

First, visit the site, then click on the first index called EAFE. That should bring you to a page with a little chart. On the Drop down menu for Index Type, choose Net Index (USD). Make sure the date has the latest date (i.e. today's date), then click on the Download button. When asked where I want to save it, I just choose my I.Fund.EAFE.History.Net.current.xls and overwrite it.

Next, open up both Excel files (I.Fund.EAFE.History.Net.current.xls and I.Fund.EAFE.History.Net.Fab's.xls

Scroll to the bottom of the current one and select and copy the cells containing the dates and amounts for the days that you do not have in Fab's. Paste those dates and amounts underneath the last dates and amounts in Fab's. The way to get column D to show the change in percent is to copy the last cell in column D containing a value, then paste it into the D cells without the values. Then do the same thing for column H. That will show you the price of the I Fund, unless they FV. If they do FV, just leave it alone, it'll pan out in a day or two.

On the attachments I am including, I didn't do the steps for today's values, so you can practice. Copy today's data from I.Fund.EAFE.History.Net.current.xls and paste into I.Fund.EAFE.History.Net.Fab's.xls. Then you can close the current file and only work on Fab's. Copy D842 and paste into D843. Copy H842 and paste into H843.

Whew! That was a long explanation for something that only takes a couple of minutes to do. I hope this helps us one day, when they give us until 4pm to make our changes! :)

Thank you for providing us with your quality work!

I updated the spreadsheet with the new adjustments to keep in line with the fractions of the penny. The far right column has each day's calculated amount expressed as a real number without rounding. I hope this helps you data lovers. :D

Can you please include all the prices for the rest of the year including November and December. It would be a real help to my account. Thanks.

LOL. That would help, wouldn't it? The problem I find when I go into the future is that it is hard to get back to the past. Every time I try to go back to the past, it is the past of some parallel universe, so whatever I gathered from the future is irrelevant to the past that I return to.

Creepy....Sugar completely understood all this

Life comes at you fast. Thanks fabijo. :)
