TSP vs IRA - Contribution Prioritization

It seems having a diverse pool of money to pull from in retirement is beneficial especially if retiring early. Roth & Traditional TSP IRA HSA Taxable If I'm not mistaken, current TSP rules allow early retirees in the 'special category' to take penalty free withdrawals from the Traditional TSP...

Interesting you mention that. I will be eligible to retire at age 50. I've been researching how a Roth IRA and/or a taxable brokerage might be beneficial in early retirement.

TSP vs IRA - Contribution Prioritization

This post is in reference to in-service contributions while still employed with the Fed, not rollovers. The "FIRE" and personal finance hive mind typically suggests investing in this order: 1. Employer 401k up to the match% 2. Max out IRA 3. Then, back to employer 401k up to the max/limit...

    TSP Newbie

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I'm currently at 60/20/20 in C/S/I, respectively. I plan on changing that up as time goes on; I'm still doing research on all the individual funds. I may just move to a lifecycle fund as I near retirement.
