It's almost like that one little candle predicted the government reopening!

Nice pogo stick daily candle yesterday in the stock market. Projects a high probability of upward momentum next week. Sold my SQQQ position for +5%. Held it longer than I expected, and didn’t make as much as I thought I would. But, glad it ended up being a win.

Counterpoint, maybe weight loss / appetite suppressant will lower the # of people with diabetes in the future. Either way, hopefully the demand signal is strong enough that these companies pump up their production quickly.

I thought the timing of this AMZN trade looked suspicious with how much it popped yesterday, but then I looked at her NVO trade and it's down just as much as AMZN is up. Even insiders can't win em all!

Small caps $IWM are outperforming large caps $SPY and tech $QQQ on a red day. Usually smaller companies fall harder than bigger ones. Interesting divergence here. Are we seeing some money move into more risky positions, or do investors just think large caps are overbought?

Weight loss drug popularity is exploding. $LLY is at the forefront. They just blew revenue and earnings estimates out of the water. Weight loss pharmaceuticals should be a good wave to ride in the stock market for the next few years.

I would have made 2,547% on that AAPL position since June 7th 2011, but of course I didn't hold it that long. I've probably bought and sold Apple half a dozen times since then. The INTC and DTV positions would have brought that overall gain down though, as they didn't do much.

Bought SQQQ to short tech as a short term trade. Looks a little toppy here, and the gap up on QQQ today was on low volume. I think we come back down to fill that gap next week, but I am ultimately long term bullish so I don't want to hold this position for too long.

Really want to put a piece into the I-Fund to get some of that great return, but not sure if I'm late to the party there. Does anyone have thoughts on if whatever is pushing the I-Fund up will continue?

The RSI suggests the market is entered extreme overbought territory yesterday. The last time it did that, late July, we saw the S&P 500 top out about 4 days later and then drop about 200 points over the following 3 days.

TZA was trading between 10.22 and 10.57 on Aug 21. Yesterday it closed at 8.15. So he's down about 20% ($43K) on that trade so far, if he's still holding it.

The lower rates go, the cheaper it gets to borrow money. Borrowed money gets invested into the stock market, which continues to push it up. I don't see this market going down for anything more than a short pullback.

5 years later, $154K at 38 years old. I plan on (probably) retiring from active duty in 3.5 years and not sure what my plan for my TSP account will be at that point. I have a lot more in taxable investment accounts and real estate, which has taken more of my time and focus lately. It's been nice...

Off topic, but I am curious about the calculation here. What is the theory and math behind losing money at work? This has me interested!
